The Purchase Quote is an optional step in Purchase Management.

FieldOne supports this process, which is sometimes called a "Request for Quote" or "RFQ." If your Company feels no need for this step, you can omit it. However, you may find that it provides a useful method to create, track and store requests sent out to Vendors to get bids for pricing.

The flow of work through the Purchase Quote is designed to eliminate duplicate work and to allow you to make comparisons between Vendor prices, and therefore, informed decisions. It also provides convenience, allowing you to move from asking for Quotes through receiving Prices and then to finish by automatically generating the appropriate Purchase Orders.
