Field Select Boxes

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

There are a number of different types of Field Select-Boxes, used according to the group of entries available for selection.

Simple Lookup Box - used for predefined, unchanging values
Lookup Combo Box - the most common one, used for ordinary, uncomplicated searches, allowing you to add more values "on-the-fly"
Pop-Up Lookup Combo - more search capabilities for larger sets of data, such as Parts, also allowing you to add more values "on-the-fly"
Search or Open - allows search for item, or open for review (used for frequently opened items such as Work Orders or Purchase Orders)
Multiple Parts Checkoff - specialized search and retrieve function for Parts

Note: To completely remove any existing value from a Select Box, and make it empty, do the following. (The only exception is the Simple Lookup Box, where a choice is expected.)

1.Place the cursor at the end of the entry.
2.Use the back-space key through all the characters to the beginning.
3.Then use the Delete button.
4.Save the record while this field is empty.
