The Progressive Lookup Box collects choices in a column on the immediate work screen and automatically enters them into a predefined Simple Lookup Box. If you exit this screen an go to another record, for the same column, the process of collecting entries starts all over again, with no reference to the previous record's screen entries.

For example on the Tasks Sub-Tab of any Notes Tab, the column called Group provides Progressive Lookup when you click the down-arrow in the select box.

In this case your actual entries on the screen provide the choices in the select-box as you go along. When you return to the same record, the select-box still offers the same choices built up there earlier.
