A Manufacturer is the company that produces the product, used when you are describing the item. (See Customer Equipment, General Tab and Part Details, General Tab.) One vendor-distributor may sell items from many different Manufacturers.

To Set up Manufacturers:

On the Work Menu at the top of the screen, click the Inventory or Equipment down-arrow, and select Manufacturers:

The smaller-size Lookup screen will appear. (To add or change a record, see Small Lookup, Add or Edit.)

The Manufacturers Details screen contains three Tabs:

General Tab

Here you collect the basic information to describe this Manufacturer.

Fields: (For help with data entry, see Field Select Boxes and Field Helpers.)

 

Manufacturer Name:

Required. Unique name used to display and sort Manufacturers.

Contact:

The Manufacturer employee who handles your Company's business. The Alt Contact field below and also Alt Contact Tab allows you to enter additional persons.

Alt. Contact:

Another Manufacturer employee who handles your Company's business. The Alt Contact Tab allows you to enter additional persons.

Address:

Enter the full mailing address.

City, State and Zip:

Further address information.

Country:

Useful for some manufacturers.

Phone, Alt. Phone, Fax, Web Site, Email:

Enter as many of the above as you need. The Alt Contacts Tab allows you to make additional entries.

Is active:

The default for the Lookup screen is to show Only Active records. You can remove the check-mark from the select-box on that screen and view all.

Alt Contact Tab

In this Tab you identify any Alternate Contacts associated with this Manufacturer.

Here you enter additional information that may helping in making contact. You can enter an unlimited number of Alternate Contacts.
